He's "Lost"
22 · Sep · 2006

I do plan to answer your many questions about my last entry. But not until the high pitched ringing stops.
Meanwhile, a friend sent me this recap of his recent visit home and, well... it seemed to hold hands with your protests.
My parents were in town all weekend, here is a summary of the conversations: Dad: "How's that internet lady you met?" -She's a PH.D. dad. and i haven't seen her in a few days."I didn't date much either till I met your mom" -Thanks dad, I appreciate that. You also joined the Marines at 18 and volunteered to go to Nam. I think we see the world a bit different in some ways.
"Sometimes a guy just gets lonely" (translation- are you looking at porn?) -Sure am dad! I can even Tivo it now!
Mom: "I just wonder what made you suddenly change you mind and stop being a Christian? Why did you turn away? You used to be so happy as a kid" -Yeah, then I left (our hometown) and went to college, and law school, and grew up... And it wasn't that I was any happier as a kid, its just that I was better at pretending then. And thanks for the "turning away" comment. Makes me feel special.
"How can you not believe in Jesus? He is just so real and personal?" -Then go talk to jesus, because you obviously like him more than you like me. Maybe he will even come visit you at Thanksgiving...Pretty sure I have to work then.
"You should read this book called 'Total Truth', it's very intellectual and talks about why Christianity is true" -You think anything other than Little House on the Prairie is intellectual...Maybe I'll start writing some intellectual Christian books and start paying these law school loans off.
I'm not bitter. I'm thinking out loud. Too bad I don't get to hear exactly what goes on n your heads, eh?
