One Down, Forever To Go

5 · Jan · 2007

Tomorrow my man and I will have been married one year. Before you congratulate me on "surviving our 1st year", I must confess, I have very little to complain about. Wait - I meant Nothing to complain about. (Hi, babe!) You see, our love (and our little family) is the one thing in my life that makes me feel that I hit the jackpot. Every day I'm with him I think, "Holy crappa! I am so damn lucky!"

We said our own vows, made up on the spot. awww!

MJ asked me the other day if I thought other couples are like "this". By "this" he meant Do they think every fart is funny and Do they act like 9 year olds who are best friends during the best summer of thier lives? My immediate answer was No, because I don't recall being around couples who grab each other's butts as often as we do, simply for the slapstick comedy of it. Also, I don't recall ever feeling like I was on a winning team like I do with MJ. Whatever it is we have - It's working.

But you know what? I hope I am wrong and there are a million other freaks like us out there. And if any of you are reading this, I hope the next time one of you farts and the other one laughs, you think of us.

Happy Anniversary, Mikhail! - Love, Ponette

Is luck the right word, or careful, thoughtful decision-making and observation where your marriage is concerned?

I think you both brought growth, maturity, and a lot of thought and consideration for each other to your relationship-- isn't it more than sheer luck? You have both worked hard to get where you are and from what I've seen, many couples don't put the time and effort into it, or cherish their relationship enough. I personally don't believe people should view their relationships as "disposable" (they can get out of it whenever the going gets tough)-- you obviously do not operate that way!

Happy Anniversary to a fabulous couple who have a fabulous little fam!

Love you much/miss you more,

K

Congratulations on your first year of marriage! To me it seems like forever ago when I guessed (I can't believe you made me guess) that you guys had gotten hitched. All the best to "J" family.

PS Keith and I laugh at farts too. And now we laugh at Sophia when she does. It's great.
