French Women
1 · Nov · 2006
My family is Mutt. There are those families out there that can boast being all Italian or Hispanic and whatever but my family is a wonderful mixture of a few different nationalities. One of the lucky four nationalities I can boast running through my veins is French. I am part French from my mother's side.
This makes perfect sense as I watch Mireille Guiliano promote her new book "French Women for All Seasons."

My mother talks like Mirelle. "Just simple things make a woman beautiful. It's how you put it together."
She drilled this into my and my sister's head.
As you can see below, she was right.
Sometimes all it takes is a simple barrette as Augs shows here how it charmed her Uncle Matt.

Or perhaps a hat. Augs and her Aunt Lauren model twin Pirate hats on Lauren's birthday.

Most of the time, however, I am trying to teach my very non-French looking, but still part French daughter, that it's all in the sly smile.

Can you believe this blue eyed, light haired baby is mine? Oh she is. She most definitely is.
