It's A Wonderful Lie - The Riches

Yes.
Yes.
Oh YES.

I watched The Riches tv premier last night on FX and I can tell you that this show is worth staying up for.

Even if you don't care about Eddie Izzard, you will LOVE the rest of the cast. They are all singularly amazing. I
I'm a fan of Six Feet Under and I will go so far as to say that I won't mind even finishing that series on DVD as long as the Riches stay on the air.

I don't want to blow it for anyone who hasn't seen the 1st episode (Nashville friends), but the writing is everything you would expect from Izzards mouth. If you know his work well, you'll catch on to subtle nods to the things that made us love him as a comedian as well as his heritage.

Two other items of note are the fact that I actually forgot that Minnie Driver is faking her American accent in the show and Shannon Woodard who plays the teenage daughter is most impressive. Also, there were a few references to Gypsy superstition which I personally thought was intriguing.

Thank God there is finally a show on TV that I can actually enjoy.

I'll have to put that on 'the tivo' when I get home tonight. Have you seen Dirt? Love it. Really. This show must be good if you're willing to forgo Six Feet Under.
