August

It's the coldest August night I've felt in years
cause I sit here listenin' to my soul cry
Floating above the street lights
dukin out a cat fight
and the cars just roll on by

I know I'm a result of all their fears
I know I will pay for all the piss in the river
I realize that the price for love gets higher every day
August sends this message in her shiver

Details don't get the attention that they need
Dressed in certificates of ownership
they are reduced to experiments of bad education
I will not be a master to that sin

The cold wind blows
I've got nowhere to go
I want to hang up my
hang ups and settle down

Yes, I know I 'm a result of all their fears
I know I will pay for all the piss in the river
I realize the price for love gets higher every day
August sends this message in her shiver
