So There!
16 · Nov · 2006
Lately a few people have mentioned to me that old advice about not talking about certain sensitive subjects. You know, money, religion, politics. Either I am a very evil person or I am very tired of trying to understand WHY it's not polite to talk about interesting things.
Speaking of .....
The number of hits this site gets has been on a steady increase in the last 6 months, so I know people are reading. But I'm begining to believe that most of you are incredibly polite or incredibly shallow. I mean, I'm pretty shallow too, so it's okay. I'm just not very polite.
I think some of you should go read my Bio page.
PS- Gays should be allowed to marry, I hate this war, NJ rocks, and Barry Manilow has officially crossed over into the Creepy zone. Thank you.

Agree. It's only when someone tries to force their views on me that I believe them to be either evil or impolite. Ha!
Hurry up and get down here so we can discuss evil AND interesting things. No, you are not shallow. I love our talks!

Obviously people don't like to talk about such interesting things because they feel so strongly opinionated them that they can't bear a differing opinion. I say get over it. I enjoy talking about those things for 2 reasons. One is that it gives me something else to talk about (besides babies since that is all that seems to be on my mind these days) and two is that I like to know what other people think. I may not agree with what they think and that is fine because I'm not trying to "convert" them to my way of thinking, just want to know what other people in this world talk about.
The thing I don't like when talking about such "sensitive" issues is when the person you are talking to tries to make you think that your opinion is wrong and tries to make you feel stupid for having it. That's not fair. That's why it's my opinion and not theirs. So I say, if you don't agree with me, great, but don't try and make me feel like I'm a jackass because I happen to think differently from you. It's funny too because most people like that would have you believe that they have an open mind. I guess not, because if they did then they would be open to the possibility that someone actually thinks differently than they do.
There, I've said my peace. And at 5:00 in the morning because I haven't been sleeping well because this child keeps kicking me. And PS back - I agree with your PS, everything but the NJ rocks because I've never been there. But I'm sure someday when I visit, I will agree.

A few things...
1. I like Mike's work.
2. I like your bio.
3. I wish you guys could have dropped by on your way across the US of A.
4. I am over number 3. :-)
Having your life ripped apart by a war, and civilization being no where in site definitely sucks. Being a boy, I can't say I wouldn't mind blowing some shit up every once in while. This war has been going on for a very long time. Remember Isaac and Ishmael, Abrahams sons? That's how freakin long this crap has been going on!!! I pray and hope for peace.
I have relatives in New Jersey and I stayed with them for 2 weeks when in 1982. We went to the beach and had a blast. There was a guy there that waded out to about his chest. He was trying to grab something. Very quickly he reached down into the water and pulled out a baby shark! It was thrashing around trying to bite him. He carried it close to shore and showed some kids, then let it go. My point... There is at least one red-neck in New Jersey! :-)
Opinions.. or "taste" as I like to think about it, are very personal. When you have tasted something, you know if you like it or not. My wife likes tabuli and I don't. I couldn't convince her otherwise.
I disagree about Barry Manilo. I think he has stayed constant all these years... Creepy.
Peace out! :-)
